Filter Bags: These are the main components where the filtration process occurs. The material of the bags can vary depending on the type of dust and the temperature of the air stream. Common materials include polyester, polypropylene, and aramid fibers.
Baghouse: This is the enclosure that contains the filter bags. It is designed to withstand the air pressure and volume of the dust-laden air stream.
Cage: Inside each filter bag, a metal cage provides structural support to prevent the bag from collapsing under the pressure of the air stream.
Inlet and Outlet Ducts: These ducts guide the dirty air into the baghouse and direct the clean air out after filtration.
Cleaning System: Over time, dust accumulates on the surface of the bags, which needs to be periodically removed to maintain the efficiency of the system. This is usually done through a pulse jet cleaning system, where short bursts of compressed air are blown into the bags to dislodge the collected dust.

Filtration Process of a Bag Filter
The filtration process in a bag filter system can be broken down into several stages:
Dirty Air Inlet: Contaminated air is directed into the baghouse through the inlet duct. The design of the inlet may include baffles to evenly distribute the airflow and reduce the velocity, which helps in preliminary dust settling.
Filtration: As the air flows through the filter bags, dust particles are captured on the outer surface of the bags. The clean air passes through the fabric of the bags and exits through the outlet duct.
Dust Collection: The collected dust particles form a cake on the surface of the filter bags. This dust cake actually aids in the filtration process by capturing smaller particles.
Cleaning: When the pressure drop across the filter bags reaches a certain level, indicating that the dust cake is too thick, the cleaning system is activated. A pulse of compressed air is sent through the bags in the reverse direction, which knocks off the dust cake into a hopper for disposal.
